1790 - 1930 Federal Census FREE online at Internet Archive below scanned from our local Allen County Public Library Genealogy Center. They don't have an index, but they are scrollable from beginning to end of the original microfilm so is much easier to survey neighbors and neighborhoods. Northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio census data from May 20, 2012 from The Journal Gazette newspaper "jgdata.net" census demographics for area localities.
More than half a million people call northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio home. Of the more than 100 cities and towns in the 13 counties surrounding Fort Wayne, nearly half of them have fewer than 1,000 residents. The town of Hoagland in Allen County is the richest, while nearly half of Ligonier households in Noble County have children, the highest rate in the region.

- What Is The 1940 US Census Minute? - “There should be a return on the Population schedule for each person alive at the beginning of the Census Day, i.e., 12:01 a.m. on April 1, 1940. Surviving fragments Not yet available on Internet Archive. "Many years after the 1890 census was destroyed, fragments of several states were found by the Census Bureau and transferred to the National Archives. While not much is left, there are approximately 6,000 individuals listed."
