A Register of Allen County Old Settlers From The Fort Wayne Sentinel, Saturday, September 28, 1901
Pioneers of Allen county gathered this afternoon in the assembly room of the court house. From the meeting came a permanent association of old settlers of Allen county - a term which includes all who have lived within the borders of the county half a century. It will hold annual meetings and take a prominent place in the civic organizations of the county.
All persons, male or female, who came to Allen county, or were born here prior to January 1, 1852, may become members of this association by having their names registered in a book provided by the association.
