Purpose
The Allen County Genealogical Society of Indiana
exists to....
- record, document, secure, and preserve the
historical records of Allen County, Indiana and the vital and
personal records of the people who originated, developed and
resided in the communities therein,
- research, organize, and present the early
ancestry of all families in which the Society or its members
have an interest,
- assist in the development and maintenance
of the genealogical source materials of the area,
- actively seek opportunities to stimulate
and promote genealogical activities, to introduce and encourage
an understanding of genealogy in those not familiar with its
traditions, and to instruct and assist those who are interested
in pursuing genealogical research, and
- undertake any other project approved by simple
majority vote of the active members present at a regular or special
meeting.
