Fort Wayne Sentinel
- 9 Jan 1894  Margaret Hiser, the daughter of a prominent farmer of Pleasant Township, swore out a warrant last evening before Justice France charging Neil Crowell, a young farmer, with bastardy. The young man was arrested and bound over to the circuit court in the sum of $600 which he gave.

- 14 Jun 1894  MINNIE'S BLUFF. Saturday morning Minnie Dame, an Aveline House dining room girl, brought a suit of bastardy against Charles Williams, a bartender. Williams was arrested and furnished bonds before Squire France. Williams is married and says the purpose was blackmail. Squire France heard the case this afternoon and discharged Williams.

- 23 Jun 1894  Yesterday afternoon, Attorneys Breen & Morris, before Justice Tancy, instituted proceeding in bastardy against Gust Schubert, the proprietor of a dye house at 65 East Main Street. The defendant was not arrested as the case was settled today.

- 8 Aug 1894  John McCaffrey and Flora Charters were married this morning by Justice France as the outcome of the bastardy suit mentioned yesterday.

- 17 Sep 1894  This morning Deputy Sheriff Al Melching arrested George W. White of DeKalb County at the home of his brother in Eel River Township on the charge of bastardy preferred by Adelia Hummer.
