157th Regiment formed of the 3d Infantry, Indiana National Guard, had two companies from Fort Wayne mustered in May 10, 1898.

Company B, 2d Infantry on page 73 in the Record of Indiana volunteers in the Spanish-American war 1898-1899; by Indiana Adjutant General's Office; Indiana. General Assembly, 61st, 1899 Publication date 1900 on Archive.org. It was organized at Fort Wayne on September 5, 1885 afterward transferred to the 3d Infantry, Indiana National Guard.
28th Battery on page 62 and page 339 in the Record of Indiana volunteers in the Spanish-American war 1898-1899; by Indiana Adjutant General's Office; Indiana. General Assembly, 61st, 1899 Publication date 1900 on Archive.org. It was organized October 26, 1888 as a Gatling Gun Squad, then as a Battery July 1, 1887, with many from Fort Wayne. BTW the Gatling gun was patented November 4, 1862 by Dr. Richard Jordan Gatling a medical doctor in Indianapolis.
