The loss of a loved one can be a traumatic and stressful time for many families. One of the many people that help during this time of need are funeral directors and morticians. These individuals dedicate their lives to helping us celebrate our loved ones, bringing together the memories and achievements of someone we've lost to death. With professional guidance and compassion, funeral directors help with every step of planning a funeral. Beyond their training, funeral directors know how to put people at ease. When we grieve, the pain of loss takes on many different faces. Funeral directors act as guides and help to fulfill the wishes of our loved ones. When the pain and suffering ends, the mortician and funeral director provide a sense of peace and unity at a time that can seem chaotic even at its best. By an act of Congress, National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day was created and has been observed on March 11 since 2008. In Fort Wayne we have a long history of funeral professionals providing for the care of our loved ones. These range from the Peltier family in the early 19th century to Klaehn, Fahl & Melton in the 21st century. Join us today as we thank and honor these wonderful individuals who help our community in time of grief. #sociallyhistory

On Wednesday February 8, 2012 we staked the building and sewers for this project. (See earlier posted albumn) Pictures below of the finished product!
Not that long ago, a site that was all grass, would be developed with buildings, parking lots, etc. and the water falling would immediately be piped to our rivers and streams thru the storm sewers. We wondered why the rivers flooded so much, huh! Rainfall that used to land on the grass, gradually soak into the soil, and slowly make it's way to the rivers over hours or days, now makes it there in minutes! Go figure!
