| Query: | My g-grandfather, Emanuel (Manuel) Ambrose Myers, seems to have been quite a stinker. He was born in 1878 and raised in the Huntertown area (his parents were Israel & Kate Myers, grandparents were Nathan & Leah Myers). Emanuel lived around the Fort Wayne area all his life. He was a farmer, laborer, watchman at People's Trust, lineman, fireman for the Nickel Plate RR, an iceman & driver for Crystal Ice, and was a carpenter. I am searching for information/records about him, particularly his divorces from Lola Abel (abt 1910), Lillie Baumgart (abt 1914) and Bertha Worman (married 1917, divorced?). I can't find him in the 1920, 1930 or 1940 censuses. He died at the Lawton Nursing Home in 1952 and is buried in an unmarked grave in their burial area. He was apparently on welfare and I would like to see if I can get those records as well. My father was his grandson and knew very little about Emanuel, Israel or Nathan Myers. I worked on these lines many years ago and am just now getting back to my research. My dad passed last year and was always intrigued by his Myers family's history because he never knew them. |
