| Query: | The censuses for 1860, 1870 and 1880 state that Sylvester W Skellenger was born in NY state. He was first noted on 8 Feb 1854 in Franklin Co, OH, when he married Celia Campbell, nee Chandler, of the state of ME. The couple then removed to Allen Co., IN, and spent the remainder of their lives as farmers in that County with no known descendants. Sylvester W. died on 22 May 1897 in Maysville (Find-a-Grave Memorial # 85968897). His funeral arrangements were provided by the now defunct Carrington Funeral Home of Harlan. I have searched for years trying to find his parents without any positive results. Any help in identifying his parents would be much appreciated. |
